Tates Creek High School junior Erin Christopher will be the latest Lexington student to compete for the title of Jeopardy! teen tournament champion at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on WKYT-TV (Channel 27-1, TWC Channel 9).

Eight players from the Lexington area have made it into the Jeopardy! teen tournament since 1999. Christopher will be the first contestant from Tates Creek High School. She will be competing for $75,000.

Christopher, 16, is the daughter of WLEX-TV (Channel 18-1, TWC Channel 8) news anchor Kevin Christopher and his wife, Rebecca Christopher,

She couldn't comment on her finish in the competition, which was filmed in Los Angeles earlier this year. But she said the bonds she forged with other contestants have proven the be one of the most special parts of the experience.

"We've actually become really tight," Christopher said. "We have a message group on Facebook where we all talk to each other every single day. We connected like that. It was really, really special because I don't think every class of kids does that."
