Police are looking for a car that left after an injury accident Monday night in Danville.

The fleeing car was carrying a man and woman, and a child was in the rear seat, Danville police said.

Isles Young, 19, was stopped at Main and Fourth streets about 9:50 p.m. Monday. She was waiting to make a left turn onto Fourth Street when her westbound Mercury Sable was rear-ended by an older red two-door car, according to police.

The red car then left, police said.

The driver was a woman, possibly in her 20s, officers said.

Young and a 15-year-old passenger in her car were treated by an ambulance crew for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information on the driver who fled is asked to call the Danville Police Department at (859) 238-1220.

Jim Warren: (859) 231-3255.
