Madison County: Quilt event this weekend

Berea's 10th Annual Quilt Extravaganza will be Friday-Saturday at the Community School, 1 Pirate Way, Berea.

Activities include a talk on the history of feed sacks as material, a guided walking tour of significant quilts in the show, and demonstrations of hand-quilting, quilt binding, paper piecing, T-shirt quilts and embellishment techniques. A hands-on needle felting class will be Saturday with all materials provided for $10.

The Kentucky Artisan Center will present a quilting demonstration from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday by textile artist Marilyn Foulke of Louisville. Quilts of a Feather shows how she captures a variety of bird species in her quilts.
