Police were called to an apartment complex near the University of Kentucky early Saturday after a party got out of hand and shots were fired.

Lexington police Lt. Jesse Harris said police were called to the Newtown Crossing apartments on South Broadway at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday on a report of shots fired.

Harris said it appears that a party turned into a fight, and "somebody pulled out a gun and fired several shots into the air."

No one was injured from the gunfire, but a man suffered a minor head injury during the fight.
