A Casey County man died Saturday when he fell on a knife while carrying a marijuana plant, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police.

Barry R. Wilson, 40, was walking down an embankment, carrying a knife and a marijuana plant in a pot, when he tripped while trying to cross a fence and fell on the knife, police said.

The knife stabbed Wilson in the upper left chest, and he died at the scene, police said.

Wilson was found in the yard of his residence on Ky. 501. State police were notified at 6:10 p.m. He was coming out of a wooded area when the accident happened, said trooper Billy Gregory, spokesman for state police Post 15.

Detective B.J. Burton is continuing to investigate, but no foul play is suspected, police said.
