Rockcastle County girl, 5, dies of injury from ATV accident

A 5-year-old Rockcastle County girl has died after being injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident, Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn said in a news release Sunday.

The girl, Amberly Northern, suffered a head injury when the ATV she was on rolled over Thursday, according to the news release. She was not wearing a helmet, Ginn's office said.

Amberly died at 1:36 a.m. Friday at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital as a result of a traumatic brain injury, Ginn's office said.
