Lexington police charged a man with wanton endangerment after he allegedly fired a gun outside the Art Bar on Euclid Avenue early Sunday. It was at least the second such incident in three weeks at the club.

Lt. Jesse Harris said police responded to a report of a fight at the bar just after 2:30 a.m. There had been a disturbance inside that continued outside, Harris said.

Police charged two men with alcohol intoxication and disorderly conduct.

As the crowd started to leave, police heard shots and chased a man who ran from the scene. Police found a gun and a man hiding nearby, Harris said.

Officers charged Lindell Murphy, 24, with wanton endangerment, tampering with evidence and fleeing from police, Harris said.

On July 13, police were called to the Art Bar to help clear a crowd. A man in a silver SUV fired several shots near the crowd and then nearly hit a police officer as he drove away, Harris said at the time.

The shots did not hit anyone.
