Gift helps Center for Courageous Kids

The Center for Courageous Kids has received at $250,000 gift from Georgetown philanthropist Terry Scariot, USA Cares vice chairman, a partner in Remington Partners and a supporter of the camp, which serves children and families living with medical challenges as well as providing several opportunities for wounded soldiers and their families throughout the year.

"I am honored to support CCK," Scariot said. "I have seen first-hand the fun-filled experience the compassionate staff and camp activities bring to seriously ill children. CCK provides a life-changing world of hope to these brave youngsters and their families. The joy and happiness I've witnessed is both heartwarming and humbling and I feel extremely fortunate to partner with CCK."

Scariot's gift in support of The Center for Courageous Kids is helping to launch the public phase of their Courage and Commitment Campaign. This multi-year campaign will focus on enhancing current programs at the Scottsville facility and help to ensure the sustainability of their program for years to come. Currently, more than 18,000 children and family members from 40 states and five foreign countries have attended CCK free of charge.
