Civil War Event at Jack Jouett House Sunday

The Jack Jouett House Historic Site will observe Matthew Harris Jouett Day with the final program in its Civil War Sesquicentennial Series at 2 p.m. Sunday in the visitors center.

Jouett descendent Steven Ray Menefee will present Sons of the Civil War, a program about Matthew Jouett's sons who fought in the conflict. In addition, re-enactors portraying members of the 15th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry of the Union Army will create a living history Civil War campsite on the grounds of the Jouett House.

Guests may visit the campsite before and after the program. Admission is free. The Jouett House is located at 255 Craig's Creek Road in Versailles. For more information, call (859) 873-7902, email info@jouetthouse.org, or go to Jouetthouse.org.
