Lexington police pursue youths in stolen cars

August 10, 2014

Some Lexington juveniles stole two cars and led police on a chase through the southern part of the city, Sunday afternoon.

According to Lt. Jesse Harris, the incident started in the Island Cove neighborhood where two young black males were reportedly acting suspicious, according to residents. Police say they and another suspect stole a Buick and then a Mercedes. One suspect was arrested earlier in the afternoon. Another two were spotted later, around 3 p.m., and police pursued them into the Mt. Tabor Road area where they abandoned the Mercedes, fled on foot, and were eventually apprehended.
