Taylor Moore and Lee McCoy were at 8-under 135 to lead stroke play Tuesday at the U.S. Amateur Championship in Johns Creek, Ga. McCoy, a junior at Georgia, overcame a double-bogey with a stretch of five birdies in seven holes for a 68.

The top 60 players qualified for match play, which begins Wednesday leading up to the championship on Sunday. A playoff involving 17 players (tied at 175 overall) for the final four match-play spots will begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday on the Riverside Course.

Former Transylvania star Justin Tereskho shot 71s in both of his rounds and tied for 24th to advance. He was a two-time All-American for the Pioneers who graduated in 2012.

Hunter Stewart, a Lexington Christian graduate who plays for Vanderbilt, shot a 74 Tuesday and missed the 17-player playoff by one shot. Travis Rose (West Jessamine, EKU) finished at 158.
