A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries Wednesday night when he was struck by a car on Man o' War Boulevard, Lexington police said.

It happened about 9:50 p.m. at Man o' War and Osborne Way.

Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said Thursday morning that the man was walking along the inner loop of Man o' War when he apparently tried to cross the outer loop and was struck by a passing car.

Roberts said the man remained alive Thursday morning at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, but there was no other word on his condition.

An investigation is continuing, but at this point the case appeared to be an accident, she said.
