A Lexington woman injured in a crash on Interstate 64 in Woodford County on Friday has died.

Emily Rhoads Kapp, 27, was in one of three cars that collided in a construction zone at mile marker 63, near the Midway exit, according to a news release from the Fayette County coroner's office.

Kapp's vehicle was hit from behind by a pickup truck whose driver apparently did not see that traffic was stopped in the construction zone.

Kapp was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where she was pronounced dead in the neurosurgical intensive care unit at 9:29 a.m. Saturday, according to the release.

Tucker Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of arrangements. The accident also injured two other people, according to WKYT. The crash occurred at about 8:15 a.m. Friday.
