Next Cats: UK targets on TV Saturday going for gold

The Team USA under-17 squad featuring nine basketball players with scholarship offers from Kentucky will play for a gold medal Saturday.

The team has steamrolled the competition so far this week at the FIBA world championship in Dubai. Team USA has won its six contests by an average margin of 43.2 points per game and will face Australia for gold on Saturday.

The game will be shown live at 1 p.m. EDT on ESPN3 and be replayed at 10 p.m. on ESPNU.

UK target Diamond Stone is leading the Americans in points (14.2), rebounds (10.0) and blocked shots (3.7). Malik Newman is second on the team with 13.8 points and 3.0 assists per game.

Other Team USA players with UK scholarship offers include Tyus Battle, Henry Ellenson, Harry Giles, V.J. King, Ivan Rabb, Caleb Swanigan and Jayson Tatum.
