Herald-Leader Staff ReportAugust 17, 2014

Harrodsburg — Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal collision that happened just before noon Sunday in Mercer County.

State police in Richmond said that Misty Yeager, 39, of Williamsburg was traveling west on Perryville Road in a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon. Yeager lost control of her vehicle and crossed the center line, colliding with a 2004 Chevrolet truck.

The passenger in the Hyundai, Tristan Yeager, 11, died at the scene. Misty Yeager was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the collision, police said. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
