A man wearing only a towel and singing Christmas carols was arrested early Monday morning in front of Lexington's Ashland Elementary School.

Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said officers arrested the man shortly after 7 a.m. She said she wasn't sure what he would be charged with.

Roberts said the man was singing Christmas carols to students arriving at the school and was wearing only a towel around his middle.

No threats were made against students, she said.

"It appears he had diminished capacity," Roberts said.
