Police are looking for a masked man who robbed a Knott County fast food restaurant at gunpoint.

It happened about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hometown Subway in Mallie, Kentucky State Police at Hazard said.

Troopers said a man wearing a black stocking over his head and armed with a handgun entered the restaurant and demanded money. After getting it, the robber "took control of" the business phones and an employee's personal cellphone before leaving through a back door, police said.

A search of the area failed to locate the robber, police said.

He is described as a white man between 6-foot-3 and 6-foot-6 with a slim build and wearing a gray sweatshirt and jeans.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Hazard KSP Post at (606) 435-6069.
