A man on foot was struck by a car Monday night while trying to cross Tates Creek Road, Lexington police said.

Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said the victim was trying to cross Tates Creek Road near Gainesway Drive just after 10 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a blue Hyundai.

The man was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, she said.

It was the second pedestrian accident in Lexington in as many nights.

A 40-year-old man remained at UK hospital on Tuesday morning with injuries he suffered Sunday night when he strayed into traffic on South Broadway near Red Mile Road.
