Romney to raise money for McConnell Oct. 2

In 2012, Mitt Romney won Kentucky with 60 percent of the vote, and now he's trying to bring some of that magic to U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Romney, the 2012 Republican nominee for president, is scheduled to attend a fundraiser for McConnell on Oct. 2 in Lexington, the McConnell campaign confirmed Tuesday.

Coal magnate Joe Craft, his fiancée, Kelly Knight, a former Bush administration appointee to the United Nations and a prolific Republican fundraiser, and Don and Mira Ball will host the event.

Craft and Knight were Romney's Kentucky state finance co-chairs in 2012.
