A 24-year-old man has been arrested on a charge of raping a woman at knifepoint earlier this week.

Desmond Randall Henson entered a not guilty plea Tuesday afternoon during an initial appearance in Fayette District Court.

The court set a $10,000 full-cash bond in the case, and directed that Henson must have no contact with the victim. He is due back in court Sept. 3.

Police arrested Henson on Monday in Paris, shortly after an assault at the Knights Inn on Stanton Way in Lexington, according to documents filed with the court.

The victim told officers that a man had raped her at knifepoint, then had driven away. She told police that some construction workers nearby had gotten the vehicle's license number.

Police then determined that Henson was in Paris, where he was arrested.

According to court filings, Henson initially told police that he went to the motel to have consensual sex with the woman.

Later, however, he acknowledged that he used a knife to force her, the documents state.
