Lexington police have charged a man with robbing two Chase Bank locations at gunpoint this summer.

William Joseph McBride Jr., who was being held in the Franklin County Detention Center in Columbus, Ohio, in connection with a separate case, was charged Tuesday with two counts of first-degree robbery, according to a news release from Lexington police.

Police said they were called to the Clays Mill Road location of Chase at 10:15 a.m. June 21, after a man came in, showed a black handgun and demanded money.

Police said he put the money in a large plastic bag he had brought with him and was last seen running south on Clays Mill Road.

At 11:41 a.m. July 19, police were called to the Nicholasville Road Chase after a man came in with a handgun and demanded cash.
