As expected, Kentucky made the latest cut for five-star basketball recruit Carlton Bragg, who trimmed his list to five schools Monday.
Kansas, Illinois, Arizona and UCLA are the other programs that still have a shot at the 6-foot-9 forward from Cleveland.
There were no real surprises on Bragg's new list. He had previously said that UK, Kansas and Illinois were all locks to make the final five. He also went ahead and scheduled visits to Kansas' midnight madness and Kentucky's Big Blue Madness weeks ago. Those trips will be on Oct. 10 and Oct. 17, respectively.
Bragg made Monday's announcement through a YouTube video.
Michael Graves, the player's mentor, told the Herald-Leader recently that Bragg is expected to have an in-home visit with the UK coaches later this month. College coaches can meet with prospective recruits off campus starting Sept. 9.
Bragg is considered the No. 11 overall prospect in the class of 2015 by Scout.com and is ranked no lower than 16th by any of the major recruiting services. He earned a UK scholarship offer in January after going for 24 points and nine rebounds against Wildcats signee Trey Lyles in a game that was attended by UK Coach John Calipari and two assistants.
Kentucky has offers out to 13 uncommitted prospects for the class of 2015. Chicago guard Charles Matthews is the Cats' only commitment so far.
Bragg is targeting a February decision date.
■ Versatile small forward Brandon Ingram announced his final six schools Sunday night, and UK also made that list. The 6-foot-8 prospect from Kinston, N.C., is also considering Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, UCLA and N.C. State.
Ingram — a top-25 player in the class of 2015 — will visit Lexington for Big Blue Madness on Oct. 17.
■ Jayson Tatum — ranked by Scout.com as the No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2016 — narrowed his focus to 10 schools Monday.
The 6-foot-7 wing from St. Louis is now considering Arizona, Duke, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Saint Louis, UConn and Wake Forest.
Tatum visited Lexington twice last season, including a trip to Big Blue Madness.
