Third fire in a week reported at EKU dorm

The Richmond Fire Department worked to put out a trash fire at Dupree Hall on the Eastern Kentucky University campus Thursday evening.

The fire appeared to have originated in the trash chute, the fire department said in a press release.

The fire department and EKU were already investigating two fires that occurred Monday at the dorm as possible arsons. Another fire was reported Monday at the Powell Student Center.
