Girls' golf tourney suspended by lightning

Lightning delayed the first round of the girls' state golf tournament by more than three hours and play had to be suspended at 6:15 p.m.

A restart and completion of the first round will begin at 7:45 a.m. at Bowling Green Country Club on Thursday. At noon, the top 11 teams and the top 20 individuals will start the second and final round.

    Note: Tuesday's play was delayed for more than three hours because of lightning.

Six players have yet to start the two-day event and 12 teams have players that have not finished their first round.

In the early lead are Shelby County senior Candice Wiley, who is at 2-under after six holes. Scott County sophomore Liz Gumm also is at 2-under after completing three holes.
