UK's Sanders seeks Mocs job

University of Kentucky quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator Randy Sanders says he is interested in the Tennessee-Chattanooga head coaching position and has talked with the school.

Sanders, a former University of Tennessee player and coach, says he's met with UT-Chattanooga athletic director Rick Hart about the Mocs' vacant coaching position in the last few days. Sanders wouldn't elaborate.

Sanders is in his third season at Kentucky after resigning during Tennessee's 5-6 season in 2005.

Hart has declined to comment on any candidates in the seven-week-old search to replace Rodney Allison. Hart has also met with Lambuth University Coach Hugh Freeze and Tennessee-Martin Coach Jason Simpson in the past week.

East Carolina's Holtz won't rule out Syracuse job

East Carolina Coach Skip Holtz hopes to meet with Syracuse's athletic director, but said he is not close to accepting the Orange's head coaching job.

Holtz said Sunday he has had no formal meetings with Syracuse and called an NFL Network report that he was to be introduced as the new coach Monday "inaccurate." Holtz, however, didn't rule out replacing the fired Greg Robinson.
