Horsemen continue playoff push Saturday

Jared Lorenzen and the Kentucky Horsemen will try to take another step toward an ArenaCup title when they face the top-seeded Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers in an American Conference semifinal Saturday night.

Lorenzen, the former UK quarterback, has thrown for 2,538 yards and 58 touchdowns with nine interceptions, splitting time at quarterback with Justin Rascati, who has passed for 1,511 yards, 29 touchdowns and six interceptions.

"We're like a two-headed monster," Lorenzen told The Times Leader of Wilkes-Barre. "If you're scoring touchdowns, you stay in. If that means Justin plays the whole game so be it, and if I am playing the whole game so be it. We're going to stay with what we got."

The winner of Saturday's game will take on the winner of the other American Conference semifinal between the Green Bay Blizzard (11-6) and Iowa Barnstormers (13-4).
