What's coming up
Keeneland is dark Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, 12 fillies and mares will contest the $150,000 Grade III Grey Goose Bewitch at 11/2 miles on turf.
Final furlong
Among horses working out during Keeneland morning hours Sunday were two fillies who might go either to the Kentucky Oaks or the Derby: Eight Belles and Proud Spell.
Eight Belles went a half-mile in :46.60, "a little too fast," according to Cindy Jones, assistant trainer to her husband, Larry Jones. Proud Spell went a half in :50.20.
Jones said the Oaks/Derby decision "will be made at entry time."
A few lucky patrons must have had Horticulture, winner of the fourth on Sunday -- who paid $130.20.
The result of the sixth Sunday was a jockey reprise of last year's Kentucky Derby and Preakness. Calvin Borel (winner of last year's Derby on Street Sense) won the sixth with Dubious Miss. Finishing a close second on Firejack was Robby Albarado (winner of last year's Preakness on Curlin).
