No one hurt in school bus crashes in Shelby, Wolfe counties

The Associated Press

Cars collided with school buses in separates incidents in two counties Friday, but no one was hurt.

A car rear-ended a school bus in Shelby County near the Franklin County line after school on Friday. The bus was traveling on U.S. 60 East with children from Heritage Elementary when it was hit from behind. Shelby County school officials say in a statement that no one was taken to the hospital after the crash.

Earlier Friday in Wolfe County, state police say a teen driver collided with a school bus carrying high school students on Profitt Fork Road. The driver, 18-year-old John Turner, of Campton, and a passenger were not hurt.

No students on the bus were taken to the hospital.

State police say slick road conditions may have contributed to that collision.
