Education

Sullivan University System: Eric S. Harter has been named executive vice president and chief executive officer. Harter has served as dean of the graduate school since 2007 and in 2008 was promoted to vice president of academic affairs and chief academic officer.

Finance

Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis: Kevin R. Smith, president and CEO of Lexington-based Community Ventures Corp., has been named to serve on the Fed's community development advisory council. This newly created leadership entity is charged with addressing financial access issues and solutions on behalf of low- and moderate-income individuals, families and communities.

Hilliard Lyons: Damon Mazza has joined the McIntosh Ditto Group of the firm's Lexington office. Mazza will coordinate the group's marketing efforts.

Morgan Stanley Smith Barney: James A. Richardson has been named first vice president, wealth management and a financial adviser. Kate E. Salsman and Stephanie L. Nallia have been named second vice presidents, wealth management, and financial advisers.

Organizations

Kentucky Association of Realtors: John Smither, a member of the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors and a Realtor with Coldwell Banker McMahan in Georgetown, has been elected president for 2010. Linda Wiley, a member of LBAR and a Realtor with Keller Williams Bluegrass Realty in Lexington, has been named to the KAR board of directors to represent at-large. Jayne Cox, a member of LBAR and a Realtor, broker and owner of Jayne Cox & Associates in Lexington, has been elected to serve as a director to the National Association of Realtors.

Kentucky Chamber of Commerce: The following newly elected 2010 members-at-large photos were omitted in a previous edition of Personnel File: Joel Hopper, Brenntag Mid-South, Henderson; Kevin Flanery, Churchill Downs, Louisville; Paula Hanson, Dean Dorton Ford, Lexington; Julie Janson, Duke Energy Ohio and Kentucky, Cincinnati; William "Bill" Corum, Kentucky Association of Electric Co-ops; Lynn Parrish, Marwood Land Co., Pikeville; Shannon Turner, Passport Health Plan, Louisville; William "Bill" Lear Jr., Stoll Keenon Ogden, Lexington.

Other

UnitedHealthcare: J. Paul Brophy Jr. has been named executive director in Kentucky and southwest Ohio. He is responsible for more than 265,000 UHC members in Kentucky.

Whayne Supply Co.: Scott Hudson has been named product support sales representative for the Lexington branch. He most recently served as rental manager.

Lawyers Mutual Insurance Co. of Kentucky: Nancy L. Meyers has joined the company as marketing director.
