Engineering

Nesbitt Engineering: Edmond Watkins Jr. has joined the company as an engineering technician. He will provide AutoCAD support services for oil and gas projects in the company's Prestonsburg office.

Finance

Republic Bank & Trust Co.: Campbell Brown, director, Southern Comfort Americas, and vice president, Brown-Forman Corp., has been named to the bank's board of directors.

United Bank: Joseph "Critt" Murphy has been named president and CEO of the recently merged bank. Ben Brown has been named president, Jessamine County market. Paul Edwards has been named president, Woodford County market. Michael Schornick has been named president, Fayette County and Scott County markets. Duane Flora has been named chief operations officer. Tina Johnston has been named chief financial officer. The following have been named to the bank's board of directors: G. Health care

Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center: Jill Williams has been named marketing director.

Saint Joseph Health System: Dr. Daniel W. Varga has been named chief medical officer for the multi-system hospital that includes Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Joseph East in Lexington. Most recently, Varga was regional vice president and chief medical officer for SSM Healthcare in Saint Louis.

Law

Frost Brown Todd: Mark David Goss has joined the firm's Lexington office as a member. He has joined the firm's corporate, energy and natural resources and regulated business practice groups.

Henry Watz Gardner & Sellars: Attorney Adrienne Godfrey Thakur has joined the firm.

Reminger: Mark R. Bush has been elected partner. He practices in the firm's Florence and Lexington offices.

Organizations

Association of Equipment Manufacturers: Chuck Martz, president and chief executive officer of Link-Belt Construction Equipment, has been named second vice chairman of the North American-based international trade group.

Commerce Lexington: Josh Fenner has been named director of research. Kelly Cain has been promoted to project manager for Commerce Lexington's economic and workforce development division.

Kentucky Association of Colleges and Employers: The following have been named board members or officers for 2008-2009: Keley Smith-Keller, Northern Kentucky University, president; Donna Brumfield, College Central Network, president elect; Anthony Roberts, ITT Technical Institute, past president; Juliann Saifullah, Sullivan University, secretary; Amy Monson, Gateway Community and Technical College, treasurer; Julia Hawkins, Morehead State University; Frank Patton, First Investors Corp.; Brooke Brown, University of Kentucky; Rebecca Tinker, University of Louisville; Alison Morris-McDonald, Kentucky Wesleyan, Amanda Tudor, Eastern Kentucky University.

Bluegrass Care and Rehabilitation Center: John Short III has been named chaplain.

The Oldham Era: Kevin Lashbrook has been named general manager of the La Grange weekly newspaper.
