What do you think the fans expect of you? Not to do anything. Just to be a backup.
What's your reaction to that? I feel hurt.
When is the last time you were considered a backup? Never.
Your high school coach questioned your decision to come to the same school as John Wall. So why did you? I thought it would be motivation.
What chance do you have to win the starting point guard position and make John Wall the backup? I think there's a good chance.
What makes you think that? Both of us have been playing against each other and how it's going. It's going good.
So you're saying you're getting the best of John? No, I'm not. We compete. We compete like he's on Kansas and I'm on North Carolina.
Who's winning these competitions? We get the better of each other. We've been making each other better.
At the Derby Festival, you said you did not like schools that considered you a backup plan in recruiting. What was that about? It was just my (high school) coach filling my head with nonsense. Telling me it wasn't going to work because he (Wall) and I want the ball.
You committed to Kentucky first. What did you think when John later committed to Kentucky? I thought it was good because he's supposed to be like the No. 1 draft pick. Playing against him every day is going to make me better.
Do you think you'll be the backup coming off the bench? That's how it's supposed to go. I'm a team player. I don't care if I come off the bench or start.
How would you compare your game to John's? We're kind of sort of alike. We both like to pass a lot. We'll score if we have to.
What's the writing on the tattoo on your right biceps? "The Lord is my Shepherd" because as long as He's watching over me, I'm not (going to worry).
