Miley honors dad with name change

From here on out, Miley Cyrus will be known by a new name -- and it's not Hannah Montana. The 15-year-old pop singer-actress has officially changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus.

It doesn't seem like a big change until you learn that she was actually born with the moniker Destiny Hope Cyrus. The Miley came from a childhood nickname from dad, Kentucky native country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, who noticed that his little girl was very "smiley."

Where the S went is anyone's guess, but everyone quickly latched onto the name. The "Ray" was adopted to honor her father.

The Hannah Montana: One in a Million DVD hit shelves Tuesday.

REALITY SHOW CONCEPTS IN THE MAKING

Actress and fashionista Sarah Jessica Parker, who was brilliant as a guest judge on Bravo's sartoreality show Project Runway, is set to produce a new reality show-competition with a creative bent. According to USA Today, this time a dozen contestants will create art in various genres, including sculpting, painting, photography and industrial design. The grand prize: a gallery show, money, and a national tour. Parker is shopping the idea to the networks.

And while we're on the subject of reality shows: Forget aspiring models. Tyra Banks intends to put more realistic people on the air. The former supermodel and her producing partner Ken Mok are re-teaming to create an as-yet-untitled reality series set in the behind-the-scenes world of fashion magazine, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series, described as The Devil Wears Prada meets The Assistant, will allow ambitious assistants to taste what it's like to have heavier responsibilities at a fashion magazine. The ultimate winner of the show will land a job in the fashion industry.

So far, The CW has ordered eight episodes that will begin shooting in April for a late spring or summer debut.

MADONNA'S THE RICHEST

Madonna is the richest woman in music. The 49-year-old entertainer leads Forbes.com's list of the top 20 "Cash Queens of Music," earning $72 million between June 2006 and June 2007. The pop star's Confessions world tour pulled in $260 million, Forbes said. She also made money from album sales, her fashion line with H&M and a deal with NBC to broadcast her concert performance at London's Wembley Stadium.

Barbra Streisand is No. 2 with $60 million, thanks to her comeback tour of North America and Europe.

Celine Dion ranks third with $45 million, largely from her successful A New Day show in Las Vegas, which she wrapped up in December after a five-year engagement at Caesars Palace.
