JUMPING through HOOPS

Boys

■ Freshman forward Zeke Pike hit an eight-footer with two seconds left to send Dixie Heights to a 55-53 win over Lafayette in the Kenton County Classic semifinals at Simon Kenton. Pike also tied a team-high with 13 points. Lafayette sophomore guard Tanner Napier led all scorers with 17 points. The Generals will face Conner in the consolation game on Saturday. Conner lost 78-67 to No. 17 Highlands Thursday night.

■ Richie Phares scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help No. 2 Scott County in a 92-43 win over visiting Bourbon County in the Toyota Classic. University of Kentucky commitment Dakotah Euton added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Cardinals, who outrebounded the Colonels 60-20.

■ UK commitment Vinny Zollo had a double-double and hit two key free throws to send No. 11 Clark County to a 41-37 victory over Campbell County in the Kenton County Classic at Scott. Zollo tallied 13 points, 11 rebounds, seven blocked shots and made two free throws with 11 seconds left to give the Cardinals a four-point lead.

Pineville senior guard James David Strange poured in 42 points and added six rebounds to lead the Mountain Lions to a 76-62 win over Lynn Camp in the 13th Region All "A" Classic semifinals at Oneida Baptist.

Girls

■ Danielle Corbett made seven three-pointers and scored 23 points to help lead Lexington Catholic to a 67-60 win over North Laurel at the South Laurel Hoopfest. Corbett was 7-for-12 from three-point range and Maggie Wilson made all three of her three-point attempts and scored 20 points. Shaneque McGhee scored six points and grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds.

Menifee County senior guard Chelsea Williams scored 36 points and dished out 11 assists to send the Lady Cats to an 89-72 win over visiting Wolfe County. Junior forward Kayla Stamper led the Wolves with 39 points.
