Ex-Cat Pulley won't play at EKU
Former University of Kentucky quarterback Curtis Pulley will not be transferring to Eastern Kentucky.
Pulley attended an EKU practice on Tuesday after getting his official release from UK and met with Colonels Coach Dean Hood on Wednesday.
But Pulley's father said Thursday that both parties ultimately decided it was in the best interests of everyone involved for Pulley to find another school to continue his playing career.
Pulley was dismissed from UK on Monday for a violation of team rules.
Pulley's father said his son remains in Lexington and has talked to several Football Championship Subdivision schools about transferring. Pulley would be eligible immediately at an FCS school.
”He's got some opportunities,“ Curtis Pulley Sr. said. ”He was disappointed that Eastern didn't work out, but people are still interested in him. He's made some bad decisions, but what's done is done. He probably needs to go somewhere away from Kentucky to get away from all the bad publicity. He's got a couple of schools telling him that they're willing to wipe the slate clean and give him a fresh start.“
