Ex-Cat Pulley enrolls at Florida A&M

Curtis Pulley, who was dismissed from the University of Kentucky football team earlier this month, has enrolled at Florida A&M University, Pulley’s new school confirmed Thursday.

Pulley, who was projected as UK’s starting quarterback this season, was kicked off the Wildcats team for violating team rules. His off-the-field issues included two incidents this summer involving police. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Pulley was Kentucky’s 2004 Mr. Football at Hopkinsville High School.

Pulley split time at backup quarterback and wide receiver during his first two seasons at UK before redshirting last year. He competed with Mike Hartline for the starting quarterback job last spring and was believed to be the front-runner before his troubles began.

Pulley will be eligible to play immediately at Florida A&M, which is a Football Championship Subdivision team playing in the Mideastern Athletic Conference. Pulley has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Florida A&M finished 3-8 overall and 2-7 in the MEAC last season but hired a new coach, Joe Taylor, in the off-season. The Rattlers were picked last month to finish sixth in the nine-team MEAC in pre-season voting by coaches and sports information directors.
