HOOVER, Ala. — Kentucky sophomore second baseman Chris Bisson and sophomore shortstop Chris Wade were named All-Southeastern Conference second-team selections by the league's coaches Tuesday.
Bisson, a native of Orleans, Ontario, has led UK in batting average (.360), games played (53), runs (49), hits (80), triples (3), RBI (52) and walks (20) this season while stealing 13 bases in 15 attempts. Bisson hit .365 (46-for-126) in SEC play, ranking second in the league with 46 hits. Defensively, Bisson fielded .953 with 133 assists, turning a team-best 24 double plays.
Wade, a 2008 freshman All-America selection from Lexington Christian Academy, has a .313 average (49-for-157) with 10 doubles, one triple, six homers and 42 RBI.
In SEC play, Wade batted .272 (25-for-92) with three doubles, three homers and 14 RBI. Wade fielded .962 with 130 assists and 73 putouts, turning 21 doubles plays.
