Two UK women's soccer games to be televised

Two University of Kentucky women's soccer games will be televised live this season, the school announced Wednesday.

Kentucky's match at West Virginia, originally scheduled for Sept. 12, has been moved to Sept. 11, when it will be broadcast on the Fox Soccer Channel at 8 p.m.

On Oct. 5, UK's home game against Florida will be televised by Fox Sports Net at 1 p.m.

”We're excited about the opportunity to give our fans across the nation a chance to watch UK soccer,“ Coach Warren Lipka said. ”And what better matches than West Virginia and Florida, two of the premier teams in the country, to showcase.“

Kentucky opens its season Aug. 28 at home against Texas.
