Nov. 12, 2008: Hood is part of a big three who signed national letters of intent to play for UK. See story.

Dec. 3, 2008: Hood started his senior season in style by scoring a career-high 42 points as the Maroons beat Ohio County 67-51. Hood had 17 points in the fourth quarter as Madisonville broke open what had been a close game. He finished the night 15-for-25 from the field, 10-for-13 from the foul line, and had 13 rebounds.
Dec. 6, 2008: Hood had 30 points and eight rebounds, but No. 21 Madisonville fell to Marshall County 75-57 in the Bill Keightley HoopsFest at Marshall County. Hood also had three blocks and two steals.
Dec. 19, 2008: Hood had 36 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals, but No. 21 Madisonville lost to Pleasure Ridge Park 69-68 in the first round of the King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic at Fairdale. Hood was 9-for-17 from the field and 17-for-22 on free throws. He also had three blocked shots.
Dec. 20, 2008: No. 12 Male defeated Madisonville 71-57 in the King of the Bluegrass consolation round despite Hood's 36 points, 13 rebounds, six blocks and five steals. Hood outscored the Bulldogs 10-9 in the third quarter to get Madisonville back into it, but Male pulled away late in the fourth quarter.
Dec. 29, 2008: No. 20 Adair County beat Madisonville 56-50 in the consolation round of the Republic Bank Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic. Madisonville went 1-2 in the tournament and Hood averaged 21.7 points and 13.7 rebounds despite being double- and triple-teamed for much of the tournament.
Jan. 8, 2009: Hood scored 39 points, grabbed five rebounds and added three assists and two steals to help Madisonville beat University Heights 72-71. Hood's 39 points accounted for his highest total since scoring 42 points in a win over Ohio County in the season opener.

Feb. 14, 2009: Hood scored 39 points to go with 15 rebounds, four assists and four blocks in Madisonville's 79-78 double-overtime victory at Hopkins County Central. The performance came a night after Hood turned in 33 points, 13 rebounds, nine blocks and four assists in the Maroons' 71-53 win over visiting Fort Campbell.
Feb. 26, 2009: Hood scored 31 of Madisonville's 49 points in the Maroons' 54-49 loss to Hopkins County Central in the 7th District title game. Hood scored the first 10 points of the game in a span of just 1:20 to get Madisonville out to a 10-2 lead, but Hopkins Central fought back to tie it at 12-all at the end of the first quarter. Hood made some shots to get Madisonville back into the game in the fourth quarter, but the Maroons couldn't get the lead.
March 5, 2009: Hood injured his foot in last week's district tournament finals against Hopkins County Central and will not play the rest of his senior season. The Mr. Basketball front-runner was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right foot. Hood averaged 28 points and 12.5 rebounds. See story.
March 9, 2009: Hood is one of 20 high school seniors selected for this year's Kentucky Derby Classic, to be played April 11 in Freedom Hall. Orton joins fellow UK signees Daniel Orton and G.J. Vilarino. The tentative lineup also includes Louisville signees Stephan Van Treese, Rakeem Buckles, Mike Marra and McDonald's All-American Peyton Siva. McDonald's All-Americans Michael Snaer (Florida State) and Maalik Wayns (Villanova) will also participate. It's not clear whether Hood, who was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his foot last week, will be healthy enough to play.
