HIGHLIGHTS
Dec. 1, 2008: Bledsoe recorded a triple-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to lead Parker High to a 66-55 victory over Sylacauga.
Dec. 20, 2009: Bledsoe had 27 points, nine rebounds, six assists, six steals and blocked four shots for Parker, but the Thundering Herd fell 56-53 to undefeated Sidney Lanier on a three-pointer in the final seconds.
Feb. 27, 2009: Bledsoe had 17 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks to lead Parker High to a stunning oupset of DeMarcus Cousins and nationally ranked LeFlore High in the semifinals of Alabama’s Class 5A state championship in Birmingham. Bledsoe had two breakaway dunks in the final minutes. "It’s been my dream to come here and play for it all at the Civic Center," he told the Birmingham News. "Today played out like my wildest dream."
Feb. 28, 2009: Bledsoe led Parker High with 17 points, but the Thundering Herd fell to Butler High 55-45 in the Class 5A state championship game in Birmingham. "We just ran out of gas," Bledsoe said of the team’s surprising run to the state title game.
March 20, 2009: Bledsoe scored 12 points to go with six assists and five rebounds to help the Alabama All-Stars defeat the Mississippi All-Stars 78-74 in a game in Pelham, Ala. Bledsoe was named the game’s most valuable player.
March 25, 2009: The Birmingham News selects Bledsoe as the newspaper’s West Player of the Year. Bledose averaged 20.3 points, 9.4 rebounds and 11.5 assists per game during his senior season.
April 11, 2009: Bledsoe scored nine points, grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and had four assists in 24 minutes in the Derby Festival Basketball Classic in Louisville. Bledsoe teamed with Louisville signee Rakeem Buckles to win the festival’s two-on-two tournament earlier in the week.
May 6, 2009: Bledsoe signs to play basketball at the University of Kentucky. Bledsoe chose UK over Memphis in a news conference in his hometown of Birmingham.
