Raven Run Nature Sanctuary (5888 Jacks Creek Pike, 288-6105) has 470 acres of some of the most exquisite meadows, woodlands and creeks you'll ever see.

Daniel Boone National Forest also provides excellent hiking with 26,000 acres along the Red River. Call 745-3100.

If you want to see emerging and disappearing springs and a wide range of plants and wildlife, then visit McConnell Springs (off Old Frankfort Pike, 255-4073).
