Victim killed in Lexington shooting was high school football player

A Lexington high school football player was killed in a fatal shooting in Lexington Wednesday night, his uncle said. Bryan Station High School Athletic Director Chad Luhman said Patrick Puckett was a "fun-loving kid who got along with everybody. He was one of those kids you couldn’t help but love. Tates Creek starter Caleb Johnson improved his record to 8-0 in guiding the host Commodores into the 43rd District finals. Johnson allowed an early run but finished with 10 strikeouts in a two-hitter. Johnson said the rain that stopped the game in the bottom of the third "helped settle my mind."
