Couple with Kentucky ties and their two young children die in fire

A family of four with ties to Kentucky are thought to have died in a fire Tuesday morning in Michigan. Relatives told FOX 2 in Detroit that Brittani Rodden, 25, Jon Taulbee, 24, and their two boys, Carter, 5, and Wesley, 2, died in a fire at a home in Rose Township. WLEX reported that the couple were from Jackson in Breathitt County.

Visitors are setting record numbers at this bourbon distillery

Bourbon is booming statewide, and for Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky’s capital, so are the numbers of visitors coming to learn about it. The numbers this year were an increase of 18 percent in visitation over last calendar year, and a total increase of 287 percent since 2010.
