Newtown Pike project approaches its South Broadway destination

Though a section of the Newtown Pike extension project stretching to South Broadway in Lexington has nearly reached its destination, there is still about a year of work left in this phase. The section connecting Versailles Road to Broadway near the University of Kentucky campus is scheduled to be completed in September 2017, state transportation officials said.

Once a foodie darling, National Provisions bounces checks, closes

Once the toast of Lexington’s dining scene, National Provisions restaurant on 264 Walton Avenue has closed and is open only for events. Employees have filed complaints with the Fayette County Attorney’s Office after receiving paychecks that bounced, and a former employee has been charged with stealing and forging checks from the business. The restaurant that was once featured in New York Times failed health department inspection in June.
