Premiere of operetta
The Bluegrass Opera presents the world premiere of Illyria, a long-lost operetta that combines Shakespeare's comedy Twelfth Night with music in the style of Gilbert & Sullivan.

The work was composed in 1933 by William Theodore Diebels, professor of music at Washington University in St. Louis. It was scheduled to premiere at the time, but the production was shelved during the Great Depression.
