The 127 Corridor Sale, which bills itself as The world's longest yard sale, is Aug. 5 through Aug. 8.
The sale stretches 675 miles along U.S. 127 from Hudson, Mich., to Gadsden, Ala. That includes several counties in Kentucky.

Cursed with curls? Help is coming
Melanie Higgins of Seasons Salon and Spa will host You've Got Curls, a free workshop dedicated to men and women who have "kinky, curly, wavy or frizzy hair."

A children's store is born
Baby Bundles children's boutique will open Saturday at The Mall at Lexington Green, next to Leather Inc.
To celebrate, the store will host a bash from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with children's activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., including a chance to meet a mermaid princess, starting at noon.
More than $4,000 in door prizes will be given away, and shoppers will receive 20 percent off all purchases.
Baby Bundles offers clothing in sizes birth through 6X, shoes, gifts, room décor, custom bedding, baby gear, in-house monogramming, personal shopping and a baby registry.

Style points for Voce Salon
Mickey Binion's Voce salon, at 124 Clay Avenue, was named a winner in Salon Today magazine's Salons of the Year interior design competition.
Among approximately 100 entries, Voce was named third runner-up and was featured in the magazine's June 2010 issue and at www.salontoday.com.

The Kentucky Flea Market is Friday through Sunday at the Kentucky Exposition Center, 937 Phillips Lane in Louisville.
Admission is free to the event, which features more than 700 booths with antiques, collectibles, sports memorabilia and more.
