A parents' guide to select new movies:
'Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience'
Rating: G.
What it's about: A concert film is intercut with a little backstage life with the pop singing trio.
The Kid Attractor Factor: Boys just on the cusp of shaving, with Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift brought in for good measure.
Good lessons/bad lessons: The 3-D glasses get you closer than any concert stage, and movie tickets are cheaper than live shows.
Violence: None, though some teen girls get a little out of hand.
Language: Suck is used in a song lyric. The scamps.
Sex: No, and that's the whole idea.
Drugs: None.
Parents' advisory: Kid-friendly pop with the Disney label on it; these guys are like Miley Cyrus without the edge.
'Watchmen'
Rating: R for strong graphic violence, sexuality, nudity and language.
What it's about: Retired costumed heroes are being murdered and pushed out of society. For what reason?
The Kid Attractor Factor: It's basically the same story as The Incredibles. With real people, real blood and real guts.
Good lessons/bad lessons: The human race needs super assistance to save it from itself.
Violence: Lots and lots of it — graphic, too.
Language: Plenty of profanity.
Sex: Lots and lots of it — graphic, too.
Drugs and alchol: Booze and cigars.
Parents' advisory: The most violent, profane and sexually graphic comic-book adaptation ever. Absolutely not for children younger than 15.
