You’re sure to have a scream at many of the scores of Halloween events happening in Lexington and surrounding areas this month. Whether you’re looking for a fright or some not-so-scary fun, there’s something here for you.
The display of hundreds of jack-o’-lanterns at Transylvania University’s PumpkinMania has become a Lexington family tradition. This year’s event starts at 6 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Old Morrison Administration Building, 251 West Third Street, with trick-or treating and refreshments. At 7 p.m., they’ll flip the switch and light the pumpkins, which will remain on view through Oct. 31.
My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown is in the Halloween spirit with ‘Weep No More,’ a display of Victorian mourning customs including death masks, hair jewelry and tear vials. The exhibit is part of the mansion’s regular tours. ‘Shadows of Federal Hill,” a creepy tour of the grounds, will feature ghosts in every room sharing spooky tales and singing Victorian tunes of death. For more info, including times and admission, as well as dates and times for Lexington’s ‘Thriller,’ Little Goblins Galore and more, check out our calendar below.
