Applications are available for LexArts' Community Arts Grants.
To be eligible, programs and projects must be undertaken from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. May 22.
Grants are available for not-for-profit groups as well as individual artists in Fayette County, though an individual artist has to partner with a not-for-profit arts group.
LexArts expects this to be a competitive year for grants and says successful applications probably will have the widest community impact.
First-time applicants must attend a grant-writing workshop at 5:30 p.m. May 5 at ArtsPlace, 161 North Mill Street.
