Lexington's third Restaurant Week — which ran longer than a week, from July 24 to Aug. 2 — had diners eating it up.
"We're just hearing record weeks all around," said Connie Jo Miller of Group CJ, the marketing spokeswoman for Restaurant Week. "It was extremely well attended."
Restaurant Week drew 58 participating restaurants in Lexington and Midway, Miller said. Last summer, the designated week included 43 restaurants, and Alltech's restaurant week in November had 37 restaurants working in conjunction with the Alltech National Horse Show.
Most participating restaurants — which could offer either a $25 prix fixe menu or a two-eat-for-$25 deal — saw business increase about 20 percent, Miller said, "but a lot of people had record weeks."

Trish Tungate, chef and owner at The Dish, said that one evening during restaurant week, only 10 diners were booked — but the restaurant wound up serving 100.
Rob Perez, owner of Saul Good, said in a news release that Restaurant Week "really moved the needle for Saul Good — per-head spending was up by 12 percent over the course of the week."
Debbie Long, owner of Dudley's, said her restaurant "saw a lot of new folks — people that learned it was easy to come downtown, to park downtown."
"The big thing is bringing new customers into our local independently owned restaurants," Miller said. "It's about more than just the 10 days. It's about letting Lexingtonians know what a fabulous bevy of independent restaurants we have. We have more than our share."
Miller said that having a healthy independent restaurant presence helps contribute to the local economy and contributes to a vibrant creative presence for visiting businesspeople.
