This holiday season, the Bourbon Women Association is offering an opportunity to imbibe while shopping. The Sip & Shop events, which are designed to entertain and educate guests on Kentucky's signature spirit, will be held in Lexington on Thursday, Bowling Green on Nov. 20 and Louisville on Dec. 4.
Each will feature a special tasting from the evening's bourbon sponsor, a festive food sampling from local purveyors, silent auction and discounts on Liquor Barn merchandise. Admission is free, but a $10 donation is requested at the door.
The Bourbon Women Sip & Shop event in Lexington, sponsored by Jim Beam, will be at Liquor Barn in Hamburg Pavilion, 1837 Plaudit Place, 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

■ On Saturday, Wildside Winery, 5500 Troy Pike, Versailles, will feature Mancave Ruckus, the ukulele trio from Caribbean Blues Band. A cover charge of $10 includes a glass of wine, beer, or cider. ■ Good news for barbecue fans who hike: Chef Jesse Morris, who has Ol' Happy Days Smokehouse BBQ in Lexington, has opened Cliffview BBQ & Brews at Cliffview Resort in the Red River Gorge, on Ky. 715, 8 miles from Natural Bridge State Park. While the Cliffview restaurant will be seasonal, he's also opening up another barbecue restaurant in Beattyville soon, called Jesse's Slooo Good BBQ.
■ On Sunday, Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto will host a special autumn luncheon with the James Beard award-winning culinary duo from Canal House in Lambertville, N.J. Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton have put together a seasonal menu starting off with bourbon cocktails An autographed copy of Christopher and Melissa's cookbook, La Dolce Vita, will be included with the lunch. ■ Some members of the Bluegrass Farmers' Market will be at Azur Restaurant & Patio from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays only through Dec. 13. ■ Lexington Farmers' Market will be open Saturday at the Cheapside Pavilion, with seasonal fruits and vegetables, artisan cheeses and meats, jams and jellies, breads and more.
